Alan
Margot is currently the Regional
Director of the United States
Professional Tennis Association,
and is Director of Tennis at
the Atherton Tennis Center, Holbrook-Palmer
Park in Atherton. For over 25
years he has taught and coached
all levels of junior and adult
players including sectional and
nationally ranked juniors as
well as touring professionals
in the Bay Area.
A
Stanford University graduate
and veteran of the Stanford
Varsity Tennis Team (1969-1973),
Alan went on to play professionally
for three years. He served
as the Director of Tennis at
Menlo School and College from
1977-1986, winning four State
Championships, and voted "Coach
of the Year" 1982 and
1983. In 1977 he established
and currently operates Champion
Tennis Camps for juniors and
adults, attracting over 500
clients per season.
Alan
is presently a member of the
Volkl Tennis Professional Staff,
and competes in local and National
tournaments, rated as a 6.0.
Alan has designed, developed
and published tennis formats
and programs for adults and
children. He divides his time
between private lessons, junior
programs, strategy clinics
for all levels and ages, including
adult USTA league teams.
Alan
also conducts seminars in teaching
coaches how to train, manage
and supervise teams and players.
The programs include tennis
techniques, concepts, and strategies
with an emphasis on communication
skills and team relations.
